Star Trek asks you to traverse a vast galaxy, but when the credits roll, youll wonder why you bothered when there was so little to discover along the way.

Digital Spy writes: "Digital Extremes clearly set out to develop a game that is more than a mere licensed cash-in, but Star Trek is a title with big problems, from camera issues to barely functional cover and platforming mechanics.
"Although the studio set out to please the diehard Trekkies by embracing the source material, they will find far more satisfactory co-op experiences elsewhere."

Live long and procrastinate.
You might have read our Star Trek review, which includes verbal constructions like "spasmodic, brain-dead" and "miserable, degrading". Perhaps you're unconvinced of the game's quality nonetheless, and are entertaining sneaky aspirations of the buying-it variety.

An ignoble enterprise.
Space. The final frontier, or at least the one with the most expensive SFX. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise... F? G? I forget which letter we're up to now. Its sadly continuing mission? To explore strange new worlds that are actually giant broken hamster-runs, packed with strangely magnetic boulders to cower behind, terminals and locks to "hack" by way of vacuous minigames, and yellow-tinted ledges to sob at hysterically as you die of magic ragdoll sickness on the rocks a whopping 10 whole feet below.

Were only four months into the year, but Star Trek The Video Game is already aiming for worst game of 2013. It has some production values and I give it credit for not directly following a film, but it falls completely on its ass in every category. Generic shooting, incredibly poor artificial intelligence and glitchy bug-ridden gameplay amounts to nothing more than a meager attempt to cash in on next months film.
